The Battle For Australia

In 1942 The battle of Midway was the turning point for the Imperial Japanese Forces.
It proved to the world that Japan cannot be beaten. The huge defeat that America suffered in this sea battle paved the way for the full scale invasion of Australia.
In the weeks to follow Japanese Zero fighters demolished Australia’s air and sea defences.
Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne were pounded by a sea bombardment.
And finally 30,000 Japanese troops landed on the Australian shores; victorious; blooded; battle experienced Japanese warriors.

Prime Minister Curtin re-called the 60,000 Australian troops fighting in Europe to the defence of Australia . A “Scorched Earth Policy” which called for the demolition of anything that could be used by the advancing Japanese army, was implemented.
The top end of Australia was set alight and mass evacuations were undertaken.

Japan cracked the naval code, locating the Australian troops racing home to defend Australia. A Japanese Naval fleet backed up by over 1000 zeros surprised them half way.

The Year is 1942…. Australia has fallen to the Japanese
