The company was formed in 1993 to take advantage of broadcast opportunities and registered as a Proprietary Limited Company in 1994. The founding Directors were Robin Newell and Keith Stevenson and they remain as the company directors today

Since the foundation of the company it has shot material for its television productions in some 40 countries. The company’s productions have been broadcast in over a 100 countries and translated in to many languages.

Currently the company has film and television projects in production and development in 4 countries. In drama, documentary and for the global DVD market

The Directors are particularly proud that much of its documentary work is used globally by schools and universities as an educational resource.

Following the success of its award winning series “The Elegant Solution” the company was invited to South Africa to produce a similar series featuring South African Technology the Award winning series AfriCAN (Solutions) was produced.

Thought Films SA CC was formed in 2002 the members are Robin Newell and Keith Stevenson.

The company has a long term commitment in South Africa and has at the moment of writing some five South African film and television projects in production and or development.

Thought Films are committed to working with local creative talent wherever possible and recently formed an empowerment company in South Africa called Micromatica 527 Pty Ltd with the aim of fostering new and emerging talent from disadvantaged groups across South Africa.

The Directors of Micromatica 257 Pty Ltd are Robin Newell, Keith Stevenson and Sakhile Radebe (an emerging young Zulu producer / director)
